Rebecca is the founding partner of Aptus Accounting & Advisory, based in Sydney, Australia. An entrepreneurial spirit with over 15 years experience in the industry, Rebecca uses her extensive knowledge, connections within the industry and many years of experience to provide advice and accounting solutions to small to large enterprises throughout Australia.
In January of 2015, Rebecca made the decision to start her own firm alongside co-founder, James Solomons. Rebecca emphasizes offering a supportive and flexible team environment for her employees where they can learn and grow with the organisation. Being a mother of small children she understands the challenge of balancing personal and professional lives and leads a progressive firm to make this possible.
Rebecca believes in continuous learning and enjoys sharing her knowledge of the industry with others. She has used her qualification to teach accounting concepts and skills to others, both through formal training programs and mentoring cadets through their Chartered Accountancy studies. Rebecca is also an active advocate for charity and supporting community organisations.
Rebecca has a variety of achievements in the industry. In 2003, Rebecca graduated with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), kicking off her career. Rebecca became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2006. She received her Public Practice Certificate in September 2010 and has been a Registered Tax Agent since December 2010. In 2014, Rebecca earned her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. In 2015, she became a member of the Institute of Public Accounts and in 2016 becoming a Justice of the Peace.
Rebecca is passionate about leveraging technology and cloud-based applications in her business as it allows her to provide on-demand, relevant and cost-effective advice to her clients. Under her leadership, Aptus Accounting & Advisory won the Innovator of the year at the 2018 Australian Accounting Awards.
