Why “womxn” with an “x”?

Throughout Womxn Talk Money, you’ll see us sometimes use “womxn” with an “x” instead of the typical spelling. This is an acknowledgment of the wide array of gender expressions present in the accounting and financial tech space.

It is a vital part of this project that when we talk about uplifting women in this industry, that we include women of color, queer women, disabled women, trans folks, and genderfluid and non-binary folks.

The spelling of “womxn” with an “x” is adopted from the from the practice of using the term “Latinx” instead of Latino or Latina to be more gender inclusive.
